Rotary Playground - Kessler Mountain Regional Park

The budget for Phase 1 did not allow for a large playground near the park entry to be included in the original construction contract.  Fortunately, the Rotary Club of Fayetteville came forward with a proposal to help fund this addition.  Throughout the years, the Rotary Club of Fayetteville has been an engaged supporter of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and has contributed significantly to a number of facilities that park patrons enjoy throughout the parks system.  With this project, the Rotary Club's goal was to make an impact on the community by helping to fund this playground at the new 620-acre Regional Park.

The Rotary Club of Fayetteville raised $155,000 to assist the City in building this premiere playground.  The City matched that amount with a budget of $150,000, plus numerous contributions including construction of a cedar kiosk as an entry feature and display board.  Play By Design from Tulsa Oklahoma was awarded the contract for construction of the playground.  The play equipment was manufactured by Themed Concepts of Minnesota and consists of custom hand-sculpted and hand-painted glass fiber reinforced concrete formed into rocks, trees, and wildlife animals including an eagle, raccoon, squirrel, and rabbit.  These realistic structures are designed to encourage children’s mental and physical activity through an eagerness to play and imagine.  Fayetteville Parks and Recreation is excited to feature this durable and attractive equipment through this generous donation by the Rotary Club of Fayetteville.

This facility was dedicated on Saturday, April 28 and is now open for enjoyment by the public.  Come play!
