High School Equivalency (GED)

For those without a high school diploma, acquiring a high school equivalency diploma, or GED, can be a first stop toward higher education opportunities. Several institutions offer GED preparation classes. 

Fayetteville Public Schools Adult Education
Come by Fayetteville Adult Education at Jefferson Center, 612 S.College Avenue, to enroll. Daytime, evening, and distance learning classes are available. All classes are free. 

Northwest Technical Institute (Springdale)
The Adult Education Center has an open enrollment policy. Interested adults who are 18 years of age or older may enroll on Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Center, 709 S Old Missouri Rd, SpringdaleArkansas. High school equivalency (GED®) students are required to view an orientation session. Students may participate in labs, classes, and/or tutoring sessions to prepare for the GED® exam. These classes are free of charge. Students must make an appropriate score on the TABE assessment and the GED® Ready Test before taking the official GED® Exam.  The GED® Exam must be scheduled in advance. A fee of $4.00 for each of the four sections will be charged; however, scholarships are available.
